Apache is our ruggedly handsome horse. He is a highly trained ranch horse, and while due to past injuries, that lifestyle is no longer suitable for him. He offers a sweet disposition of empathy to our girls, knowing firsthand how to overcome trauma. He carries a lot of wisdom with him, and adds tremendous value to our team. We are blessed to have him.
You might notice looking at Apache’s left side, he has a rather large scar. About 10 years ago, a horrible storm blew through his town. The wind was so strong, that it picked up a building close by to where Apache lived. Unfortunately, the building had to come back down, and when it did, it landed on Apache! The wound was so gruesome, his owner at the time didn’t think Apache was going to survive. However, he did survive! And now he is thriving!

Hi Future Sponsor!
I’ve been around for quite some time. I can’t always say the road has been easy for me, but it certainly has been worth it. While I may never be a ranch horse again, feeling the connection and compassion from hardened hearts once they see my scars, causes me to melt in their arms. The girls actually think my scar makes me look even more handsome. It is my desire that while they are admiring my scar, they are able to reflect on their own scars (external & internal), and realize their scars make them beautiful too.
