Job Description:

The House Parents teach and help the youth develop social skills, self-help skills, academic skills (help with homework) and independent living skills; healthy living habits (to include daily exercise and outdoor activities) and foster moral and spiritual development through a broad array of activities.  This population typically has a background of low self-esteem, academic failure, and problem behavior.  The House Parents administer the day-to-day operations of a large family residence including various paperwork, domestic responsibilities, and other assigned duties including administrative directives and works closely with other child care professionals as a team in carrying out individual treatment plans including Equine Therapy for each child to promote healing and safety.  Hope Rising was established in 2012 and is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization with the mission of providing a Hope and a Future for survivors and a vision to end child sex trafficking.

We are currently looking for HouseParents for our Emergency Assessment Center.  The right people will identify with our core values of:

With our mission and these values in mind, the role will primarily provide:

  • A Positive Role Model for all of our children
  • Care and Supervision for residents in the home
  • Responsibilities of a Parent to include the provision of Material, Physical, Spiritual, Emotional, and Disciplinary Needs
  • Meal Preparation, Menu Documentation, and Grocery Pick up
  • Transportation for home residents to all appropriate facilities, to include medical/health & well-being appointments
  • Administration & Documentation of Medications
  • Documentation of various growth measures
  • Facilitation of ongoing relationships with residents and their families in conjunction with a caseworker
  • Ability to follow schedules and participate in related planning
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Married Couple or Single Female
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of related experience/education
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license w/excellent driving record
  • Ability to care for up to 6 children
  • Must possess and exhibit behavior that demonstrates cultural diversity and sensitivity
  • Must possess and exhibit high moral standards
